(CNN)Comedian Kathy Griffin shared on her social media accounts that her mother, who she called her absolute most sensible buddy, handed away on St. Patrick’s Day. She used to be 99-years-passe.

Representatives for Griffin confirmed her mother’s loss of life to CNN.
Griffin announced in January that her mother used to be struggling from dementia.
