Below Jupiter

nasa image
Jupiter is stranger than we knew. NASA’s Juno spacecraft has now carried out over 70 swoops previous Jupiter as it strikes round its extremely elliptical orbit. Pictured from 2017, Jupiter is considered from below where, surprisingly, the horizontal bands that hide quite a bit of the planet go into swirls and advanced patterns. A line of white oval clouds is visible nearer to the equator. Impressive results from Juno clarify that Jupiter’s weather phenomena can delay deep below its cloud tops, that Jupiter’s heart has a core that is impulsively tremendous and soft, and that Jupiter’s magnetic discipline varies vastly with location. Even supposing Juno is scheduled to motivate orbiting Jupiter extra into 2025, at some time the robotic spacecraft will be maneuvered to drop into the big planet.
