Comedic actress Georgia Engel, a 5-time Emmy nominee from her years on The Mary Tyler Moore Reward and All people Loves Raymond, has died on the age of 70.
Engel handed away on Friday in Princeton, Recent Jersey, in step with The Recent York Occasions. No reason for demise has been revealed.
Famed for her helium-high grunt and sunny demeanor, Engel played Ted Baxter’s ditzy female friend Georgette on The Mary Tyler Moore Reward, joining the cloak in 1972 and closing with it till the 1977 sequence finale. Georgette would lag on to marry Ted, and Engel earned a pair of Emmy nominations within the role. She went on to be half of her Mary Tyler Moore Reward co-megastar Betty White on White’s self-titled CBS sitcom, and play a memorable role as Howard’s spouse Shirley on the ABC comedy Coach.
