The CEO of Cathay Pacific Airways has resigned following stress by Beijing on the Hong Kong carrier over participation by just a few of its staff in anti executive protests.

Cathay Pacific acknowledged Rupert Hogg resigned Friday “to raise responsibility” following “fresh events.”

The firm chairman, John Slosar, acknowledged in an announcement the airline essential new administration attributable to events had “called into query” its dedication to safety and safety.

On Monday, Hogg threatened staff with “disciplinary penalties” if they took piece in “unlawful protests.’

Last week, China’s aviation regulator acknowledged Cathay Pacific staff who “toughen or elevate piece in unlawful protests, violent actions, or overly radical habits” are banned from staffing flights to mainland China.
