(CNN)Al Worden, an astronaut from the Apollo lunar program has died, NASA says.
Worden was say module pilot on the Apollo 15 lunar touchdown — and even despite the proven truth that he never got to stroll on the moon, he performed three space walks on the flight wait on from the moon to retrieve movie from cameras on the spacecraft, per NASA.
