The place is the apt method to derive a surface pattern from asteroid Bennu? Launched in 2016, NASA sent the robotic Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Helpful resource Identification, Security, Regolith Explorer (OSIRIS-REx) to overview the 500-meter-across asteroid 101955 Bennu. After mapping the reach-Earth asteroid’s shadowy surface, OSIRIS-REx will next touch Bennu’s surface in 2020 August to derive a surface pattern. The featured 23-2nd time-lapse video shows four candidate areas for the touch, from which NASA selected only one earlier this month. NASA selected the Nightingale reach Bennu’s northern hemisphere as the main touch-down space thanks to its relative flatness, lack of boulders, and obvious abundance of magnificent-grained sand. Whine Osprey is the backup. NASA plans to reach support soil samples for Bennu to Earth in 2023 for an intensive analysis.
