Glean out your red/blue glasses and test out this stereo glimpse from lunar orbit. The 3D anaglyph was produced from two photos (AS11-44-6633, AS11-44-6634) taken by astronaut Michael Collins at some level of the 1969 Apollo 11 mission. It points the lunar module ascent stage, dubbed The Eagle, rising to fulfill the thunder module in lunar orbit on July 21. Aboard the ascent stage are Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, the first to stroll on the Moon. The mute, darkish dwelling on the lunar floor is Mare Smythii positioned legal below the equator on the indecent jap edge of the Moon’s reach aspect. Poised beyond the lunar horizon is our magnificent planet Earth.
