NEW DELHI/SRINAGAR (Reuters) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi flew into the northern Himalayan put of Ladakh on Friday, officers stated, weeks after Indian and Chinese troops clashed on their disputed border there, escalating tension between the Asian giants.
Modi, who has been underneath stress to answer to what India deems Chinese incursions, met troops at a unfriendly in Ladakh’s Nimu dwelling, photographs from Reuters accomplice ANI confirmed.
Officers stated Modi was accompanied by the chief of defence personnel, Overall Bipin Rawat, and the chief of the navy, Overall Manoj Mukund Naravane.
India and China hang traded blame for triggering the excessive-altitude brawl within the Galwan Valley on June 15, by which 20 Indian troopers had been killed and as a minimum 76 had been injured.
China has not disclosed what number of casualties its troops suffered.
The nuclear-armed neighbours hang gathered troops along the border, most of which remains disputed, and navy and diplomatic talks are occurring to de-escalate the battle of phrases.
